Counselling for Adults
We all experience times when life seems unmanageable; counselling offers you the space and time you need to explore issues that are important to you such as:
- anxiety
- loneliness
- relationship difficulties
- depression
- trauma
- abuse
- low self-esteem
- anger
- abortion
- fear
- addiction
- family
- young peoples issues.
Noah's Ark Counselling Centre is here to provide a professional counselling service to the community and works to the BACP code of ethics and practice.
All counsellors are either working towards accreditation or are accredited by BACP or ACC.
Do you know of any children suffering as a result of grief or loss See our section on Rainbows.
Making contact for help
Talking things through, having someone to share your journey really does make a difference.
What does it cost?
No set charge is made for the service, however we do ask for a regular donation towards the cost of counselling. No one is turned away.
If I feel I would benefit from counselling what do I do now?
Either you or the agency you are in contact with (GP, Social Services etc), can telephone us on 01422 300457 and we will take some brief details about you (name, address, contact details, age etc, nothing that you don't want to tell us about over the phone). You will then be asked to come in for an initial chat with our counselling coordinator, who will assess your needs and place you with a counsellor if appropriate. An appointment will then be made with that counsellor and you will then have a series of sessions (about an hour long) over an agreed period of time, on a day and time convenient to both yourself and your counsellor.
